About Me

Grissom and Alexis

My name is Alexis Kurowski. I have been involved with Australian Cattle dogs since I was 13 years old, I fell in love with the breed and that love has never waivered. This breed has helped me grow into the person that I am today and in general has made me a better breeder, owner, trainer and enthusiast. I am very dedicated to the Australian Cattle Dog and to helping people understand the breed better. I offer a lot of guidance, training, advise to all of my dog clients and pretty much anyone who would like the information. I started teaching obedience classes in 2021 to better help the public around me have better training options for the difficult or complicated dogs in their life and to offer support to new owners so they could start off on the right foot. I work with all breeds, not just ACDs but I learned most of what I have in my arsenol of training from working with thi intellegent and tenacious breed!

I am an active member in the Australian Cattle Dog Club Of America and work hard to have a good reputation with my peers. I try to always volunteer at club events, because it takes a village! I am also the Vice President of Gold Coast Australian Cattle Dog club which is the Northern California regional club. I compete in Obedience, Rally, Herding, Conformation, Dock Diving, Agility and anything else my dogs might enjoy.

I work hard to focus on temperament, structure, and bidability. Cobalt dogs often live in chaotic environments, with families, in big cities, populated areas. Some live the ranch life and they need the proper sense to do that. They need to have herding instinct and be able to think about the bigger picture. They need to have a lot of early stimulation and noise, handling, textures to touch and obstacles to investigate so that they learn how to build a good tolerance for the unexpected and build confidence through learning as they grow. They need to be introduced to boundries and start thier life with a healthy human-dog relationship, or they will grow up to try and take over the world! That is my favorite job. To help them be the best they can be, and to help thier new families to be the people these dogs need them to be so that everyone is happy and successful!
